Abstract
The title compound was prepared from aluminium iso-propoxide and cyclohexylamine in iso-propanol. AlC18H42NO4 Mr = 363.51, T=293 K, monoclinic P21/n, a = 17.610(6), b = 18.767(6), c = 15.598(5) Å, β = 109.24(4)˚, v = 4867.0 A3, Z = 8, Dc = 0.99 Mg m−3, F(000) = 1616, Mo Kα radiation, δ = 0.71069 Å. μ = 0.07 mm−1, R = 0.097 for 1977 unique reflections > 5σ (F). The crystal is composed of approximately tetrahedral Al(OCHMe2)− 4 anions and flattened chair shaped C6H11NH+ 3 cations. Each alkoxide oxygen is within hydrogen bonding distance of a cyclohexylammonium nitrogen, thus linking the ions in infinite chains parallel to the a-c diagonal.Keywords
