Abstract
A weevil, Listronotus rudipennis Blatchley, apparently heretofore unrecorded as a pest has been found attacking carrots in Iowa. The injury is done by the larvae which tunnel and feed on the underground parts of the plants. In severe infestations as much as 90 per cent of the crop is rendered unfit for human consumption. The weevil requires about 31 days to complete its life cycle from egg to adult. Breeding is continuous throughout the summer. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
