Fall Migration of Aphids with Special Reference to the Green Peach Aphid1

Abstract
Fall migrants of 44 spp. of aphids were taken on sticky board traps in peach trees. Migration took place from early Sept. to Dec. 9-18. Viviparae migrated earlier, and outnumbered males about 6 to 1. Only the green peach aphid, Myzus persicae produced eggs on the peach, but 8 other species fed on stone fruits. Green peach aphid oviparae must feed on green foliage to reach maturity. Early leaf fall is important in limiting the production of eggs. The summer and winter hosts of 13 species are given.
