Abstract
The gas-phase reactions of ethenyl (C2H4 ), propenyl (C3H6 ), and butenyl (C4H8 ) with each of ethene, propene, but-1-ene, cis-but-2-ene, and 2-methylpropene have been reinvestigated using a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer. The present results are on the whole in good agreement with earlier studies, but the triple quadrupole enables reactions to be studied over a wider pressure range than the majority of previous investigations. It is particularly easy to isolate proposed sequences and thus to confirm (or disprove) particular reaction pathways.
