Abstract
Approximate expressions are obtained for the field produced when an electromagnetic source field is diffracted by a dielectric wedge. The boundary value problem, of the diffraction of an E-or H-pokarized electromagnetic line source by an arbitrary angled dielectric wedgeis formulated, and its solution is given in the form of a Fredholm integral equation. The solution of the integral equation is obtained by a standard perturbation technique. The perturbation parameter is dependent on the refractive index of the dielectric wedge. The right angle dielectric wedge, which is illuminated by an E-polarized plane wate, and whose refractive index (=n) is such that 1<n < √2, is considered in detail. Keywords
