Abstract
The conservation of momentum and energy between an emitted photon and an electron in the Čerenkov radiation gives an equation for the direction of emission. This equation differs from the one which Frank and Tamm derived from electromagnetic theory only by a negligible term involving the ratio of the wave-length of the electron to that of the photon. Keywords
