Abstract
For a classical system of particles with non-negative pair-potential energy and a finite second virial coefficient, we present improved bounds on the fugacity and virial coefficients. The new bounds are in turn used to obtain improved bounds on the radii of convergence of the fugacity and virial series of the pressure. For a system which exhibits a solid-fluid phase transition, a lower bound for the density at which the transition starts from fluid phase is also derived. Keywords
