Scleredema «Adultorum» (Buschke), a Review of the Subject Based on a Case in a Child

Abstract
A typical case of scleredema except for 2 unusual cutaneous features, linear ver-rucous bands and recurrent episodes of a macular erythema in a 9 year-old boy was described. Since the disorder affects children as well as adults "adultorum" hardly seems appropriate. Scleredema follows a characteristic pattern and course. An overt infection prior to the onset is not always demonstrable. Although the disorder appears to be limited to the skin in most cases, careful study is indicated to exclude visceral participation.
