Abstract
We present nonrelativistic one-boson-exchange potentials for the interaction by fitting to the most recent phase shifts and deuteron properties. One model makes use of scattering data to characterize the exchange of the meson and the scalar-isoscalar exchange. A second model with the and the scalar-isoscalar component represented by poles is also presented. Reasonable coupling constants and form factor parameters are found and the fit is improved with respect to fits to earlier phase shifts. This tends to confirm the physical meaningfulness of the one-boson-exchange potential model. In addition to this we introduce a model with higher-order velocity-dependent terms which lead to markedly improved fits up to 325 MeV.
