Superlattices in Pb-doped Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O and in a non-superconducting Sr-Ca-Cu-O precursor

Abstract
Superlattices in Pb-doped superconducting Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O are markedly different from those observed in the parent undoped material. The Pb stabilises the high-temperature superconducting phase and reduces polytypism. A SrCaCu4O6+y precursor for diffusion-grown superconducting films also has a superlattice structure due to periodic lattice distortions in the basal plane.
