Abstract
The introduction of hand-assisted laparoscopy should benefit every laparoscopic urologist. Hand assistance will shorten the learning curve for many urologists interested in performing laparoscopic renal procedures, including nephrectomy and nephroureterectomy. Advanced laparoscopists will be able to undertake more challenging procedures, including nephrectomies for inflamed, infected kidneys and live-donor nephrectomies. A step-by-step approach is presented for hand-assisted laparoscopic nephrectomy. Keywords
