Abstract
Patients (29) treated for malignant blood diseases developed CMV [cytomegalovirus] infection. Their clinical and laboratory features were studied. This infection apparently did not influence the prognosis of the underlying disease. The main hematological feature was pancytopenia. The data of viremia suggested active infection. A marked increase of CMV CF [complement fixing] antibodies was observed in 27/29 patients and the peak titers of 42% were > 1:1024. Homogenous Ig [immunoglobulin] were detected in 7/29 patients'' serum. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
