Abstract
In Reply. —In response to Drs Mindlin and Slawson regarding treatment of corneal abrasions, cycloplegia and semipressure patching for treatment of non—contact lens—related corneal abrasions has been the standard of care at Wilmer Eye Institute and is recommended by textbooks of ocular emergencies.1In our opinion, the possibility of confusing one cycloplegic agent with another is not reason enough not to use them as an effective medication. Two recent articles do suggest that the symptoms and signs of corneal abrasions can be effectively treated without patching.2,3Keywords
