Abstract
Presents closed expressions for the electric field in lumped element resonators used for ESR spectroscopy and an evaluation of the frequency dependence of the dielectric losses. The dielectric losses depend on the type of resonator used and the results show that multi-gap resonators are very effective in reducing their effect. The comparison between magnetic and electric losses indicates that, for properly designed resonators and sample diameters of the order of 15-20 mm, the magnetic losses will predominate. Keywords
