Abstract
The CO2 laser is widely adopted in [human] otolaryngology, particularly for endolaryngeal surgery. It is a precise but dangerous tool which must be handled with caution. The previously reported fire, anesthetic and machine hazards are reviewed and appropriate precautions outlined. If appropriately handled, it is a significant addition to the surgical armamentarium. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
