Abstract
A number of different diseases are collectively described as the amyloid disorders because they result from the misfolding and aggregation of proteins into amyloid fibrils or their precursors that are deposited in various tissues where they wreak havoc. In his Perspective, Dobson provides an overview of research into amyloid diseases and discusses possible therapeutic interventions that could prevent or reverse the aggregation process. Keywords
