Abstract
Patients (103) undergoing head and neck or ear operations were screened for deep vein thrombosis using I125 labeled fibrinogen. No thrombosis was detected in 35 patients undergoing ear operations. Nine (16%) of 56 patients who underwent head and neck operations subsequently developed deep vein thrombosis. In another 12 patients undergoing head and neck operations, the ankle was used as a drip site and 7 of these patients developed thrombosis in that leg. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
