MAVIS—A medical audiovisual aids information service

Abstract
A Medical Audiovisual Aids Information Service has been established to eliminate the hitherto laborious, haphazard and time—consuming task of seeking out audiovisual materials from the multitude of potential sources in Britain. Information is supplied concerning audiovisual programmes covering the whole range of medicine and dentistry and in a variety of media. The first 16 months' experience of running the service has confirmed the demand for assistance, and has shown that such a service is useful to medical and dental teachers working at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. It is also useful to teachers of other health care personnel. The service also offers important information to potential producers of audiovisual programmes.
