Abstract
A dimensional analysis of the statistical‐mechanical equations for the association of ionic molecules in the vapor leads to relationships between association constants and the interionic distances. The analysis leads to (a) a law of corresponding states for pure salts, (b) a relation between isothermal association constants and between enthalpies and entropies of association of pure salts, (c) a relation for the estimation of relative association constants in mixed salt vapors. The only parameters required in these relations are the interionic distances. The results of the analyses are in excellent agreement with available experimental data. This suggests the potential usefulness of the theory in making predictions in unknown systems. Keywords
