Abstract
A synchronization algorithm called syncpro is proposed which can be utilized in a microcell cluster to synchronize base stations and in a car-to-car short-range system (e.g., PROMETHEUS) to synchronize mobile stations. Syncpro was simulated in this second context with the R-BTMA protocol as medium access protocol. Its performance is evaluated in different situations and compared with that of a system where perfect synchronization is a-priori ensured. Results show that syncpro ensures synchronization in a short delay, in both mobile and nonmobile models, even at high load. Keywords
