Abstract
Oblique left and right cephalometric radiographs of 242 children were examined to study the eruption pattern of the mandibular permanent cuspid and bicuspid teeth. Tracings of radiographs were made and a gable like angle was constructed by contacting lines drawn from the most superior points of the cusps. This angle expressed the relative intra-bony position of these 3 teeth. Comparison between the right and left side in the same individual at various ages disclosed asymmetry in tooth eruption in 131 out of 242 cases. Comparison between children in the same age group disclosed marked differences in the bilateral spatial interrelationship of these teeth for 55% of the sample. This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
