Abstract
Several of the major advances in contemporary virology and immunology came about through the study of lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus and the infection it produces. Included are concepts in immunologic tolerance, virus-antibody immune complexes, cytotoxic T cell generation, H-2 restriction, virally-induced immunopathology and the cessation of infected cells differentiated function without their destruction as a cause of disease. These concepts are reviewed and brought up to date in this report.
