Abstract
The impulse response of a step index multimode optical fiber excited by a Lambertian source is presented using the power flow equation. The dependence of the response on both the coupling coefficient and the attenuation coefficient is illustrated. It is shown that the width of the impulse response is proportional to the square root of the fiber length. Keywords
