Abstract
In a study of long-range dispersal of the boll weevil, Anthonomus grandis Boheman, in Mississippi in 1974, 162,028 marked adults were released in the center of a trap grid. Eighty-six were captured in traps located on concentric circles at 5-mi intervals for a distance of 50 miles. Two boll weevils were captured at a distance of 45 miles. This is the longest recored for marked boll weevils; it equals the distance recorded for an unmarked boll weevil in Mexico. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
