Abstract
Simon N. W. H. (1977) The relative level and changes in earnings in London and Great Britain, Reg. Studies 11, 87–98. An attempt to fill a factual gap in the question of earnings within London: their present level and relative position over time compared with the rest of the country. Analysis on both a workplace and residence basis shows them to be relatively high with no decline; but non-manual workers are significantly better off than manual. There are wide variations in earnings within London, the demarcations largely to be explained by the socio-economic composition of areas; broadly speaking whether they be manual or non-manual.Keywords
