Abstract
The pigmented spots on 2 patients of the Caucasian race suffering from Albright’s syndrome have been studied by optical and electron microscopy. These spots are characterized by melanin hyperpigmentation of all the layers of the epidermis without any quantitative change in the number of melanocytes. The dispersion of the melanosomes in the keratinocytes is, however, of a special type: they are dispersed in isolated elements as in the epidermis of those of the negroid race. The pigmentation of the control skin is normal.
