Magnetic susceptibility of tetrathiafulvalene [M(1,3-dithia-2-thione-4,5-dithiolate)2]2whereM=Ni,Pd: Electron correlations and static charge-density waves

Abstract
Complete static magnetic susceptibility χ measurements, performed at ambient pressure on single crystals of the quasi-one-dimensional conductors TTF[M(dmit , where M is Ni or Pd, are reported. The spin susceptibility of these charge-transfer salts is correlated to successive condensations of charge-density-wave instabilities and to the partial densities of states of the multiple parallel bands arising from the stacks. Both compounds may be characterized by small on-site repulsions U (with UW, where W is the bandwidth).
