N‐acylamino acids and peptides I. The synthesis of N‐feruloylamino acids

Abstract
Procedures for the preparation of N‐feruloylglycine (II), ‐DL‐alanine (XX), ‐DL‐valine (XXII) and ‐L‐leucine (XXIV) by classical methods are proposed and compared. The spectral characteristics and Rf‐values of the substances are included. The compounds were synthesized because N‐feruloylamino acids were required as test substances during an investigation in connection with the expected presence of N‐feruloylproteins in barley [1, 2, 3].
