Abstract
Measurements of neutralization efficiencies in a powerful neutral deuterium beam line have evidenced neutralizer gas linear density values much lower than expected from conductance measurements made without the beam. This can be explained by gas heating phenemona in the presence of the beam. These phenomena are included in a model whose purpose is the gas linear density prediction [a detailed presentation of this model is given elsewhere (J. Paméla, ‘‘Gas Heating Effects in the Neutralizers of Neutral Beam Injection Lines,’’ EUR-CEA-FC 1279, Sept. 1985)].
