Factors Affecting Liquefaction and Cyclic Mobility

Abstract
Many failures of earth structures, slopes, and foundations on saturated sands have been attributed in the literature to the liquefaction of the sands. Classical examples of liquefaction are the flow slides that have occurred in the province of Zealand in Holland (6,9) and in the point bar deposits along the Mississippi River (20).
