Abstract
Distribution maps are given of 6 spp. in Britain and Europe. The floristics of the communities containing these spp. in Britain and Scandinavia are compared and the probable histories of the spp. in Britain are considered. The Arctic A. wichurae and Arctic-Alpine A. glomerulans occur in Northern England and Scotland and are considered to be Late-glacial relicts. The Northern-Montane A. monticola, A. acutiloba and A. subcrenata grow in the Teesdale area only in Britain. They are strongly synanthropic and may be relict spp. or more recent introductions; their status is not clear. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
