A series of 6430 routine vaginal smears were evaluated for the conditions associated with a hyper-estrogenic cell picture. This occurred most commonly in the 36-40 year age group, in women under 15 years of age and in the 46-50 year age group. Vaginal hyperestrogenism was correlated most closely with essential uterine hemorrhage, meno-metorrhagia, endometriosis and myoma. There was a suggested correlation in uterine hypoplasia and in algomenorrhea. Inflammatory diseases had no correlation.
