Abstract
The author presents a generalization of the concepts of instantaneous frequency and group delay. A simple formula is given for obtaining the instantaneous value of any quantity. The physical interpretation which emerges from these considerations is discussed. Examples are given using time, frequency and scale.<>Keywords
