Abstract
The lifetime of the B 2 Sigma u+ (v=0, N=8-13) state of 14N2+ was measured by means of the cascade-free method of beam-dye-laser spectroscopy. The resulting lifetime amounts to 61.35+or-0.3 ns, where the uncertainty quoted corresponds to one standard deviation. Other experiments found in the literature have been discussed in comparison with the high accuracy result. Keywords
