Abstract
100 Gbit/s, 560 km optical transmission with 80 km amplifier spacing is successfully demonstrated employing dispersion management of the transmission fibre. The possibility of transmission over 1000 km is discussed by estimating the influence of higher-order dispersion and nonlinearity of the transmission fibre.Keywords
