Abstract
Feeding habits of 5 spp. of titmouse in an area in English Midlands have been observed over a period of 3 yrs. It is shown that each sp. of titmouse has characteristic height-frequency distr. of foraging activities, and preferences for certain spp. of trees and tree parts. Height distr. of some spp. varies from season to season, and may be modified by unusual abundance or lack of some food. Ecological separations between different spp. disappear at times of temporary super-bundances of food.
