Abstract
Introduction Japan's success, as measured by towering balance‐of‐payment surpluses, has created serious economic issues between Japan and other industrial democracies. It has even created fears about the economic superpower status of Japan. On the other hand, because of this very success in coping with worldwide economic problems and in sustaining its export drive, Japan's unique style of management has attracted a great deal of attention. Keywords
