Abstract
An analysis on the residual deformation after perfect unloading from a large deflection was performed for a supported thin circular plate under uniform lateral load. In the analysis, different from the usual method, the equilibrium and compatibility conditions in the unloading process were considered under the influence of the deformed state at the beginning of unloading. The Kirchhoff's hypothesis for the bending of thin plate and the Masing model without the Bauschinger effect for unloading process as well as the Mises' yield condition of material were postulated. The results of analysis were discussed in comparing with those of the corresponding experiment as well as the analysis on the unusual method for obtaining residual deformation.
