Abstract
13 cases of bilateral necrosis of the putamina in children and adults are reported. CT shows similar parenchymal defects, though clinical data reveal different histories, causes and circumstances of the damage. The relationship between CT findings and clinical symptoms is investigated, and the neurological dysfunctions resulting from symmetrical areas of necrosis in each putamen are discussed. Keywords
