Abstract
The magnetic structure of Fe5SiB2 has been investigated using Mössbauer spectroscopy. In the temperature region 140 K-784 K the compound is found to be a simple ferromagnet with the spins parallel to the c-axis. At lower temperatures the spins are located in or close to the ab-plane and there are indications that the pure ferromagnetic coupling is partly destroyed. The spin rotation seems to take place relatively abruptly, but at different temperatures in different parts of the sample thus indicating that the transition temperature is composition dependent. Keywords
