Abstract
Mouse myeloma cells pulse-labeled in vitro with (3)H-leucine or (3)H-glucosamine were fractionated on sucrose gradients, and membrane-bound and free polyribosomes were separated. Nascent polypeptides released from polyribosomes were precipitated with antiserum specific for mouse immunoglobulin. The results indicate that immunoglobulin is synthesized preferentially by bound polyribosomes. Keywords
