Abstract
The authors present circumstantial evidence, based on stomatal length and epidermal cell lengths and widths in microns, suggesting that the chromosome nos. of fossil spp. of Sequoia and Metasequoia were respectively 2n = 66 and 2n=22, as in the living representatives of these genera. Keywords
