Abstract
An automatic compensated torque balance for the measurement of magnetic anisotropies from helium temperatures upwards in the range of torques 10-104 erg was constructed. The temperature dependence K1 was measured on the ferrite Cu009Mn061Fe23O4 and the energy splitting Et similar, equals 1540 cm−1 of the triplet d of the ion Fe2+ caused by the trigonal component of the spinel crystal field was determined. Keywords
