Abstract
We indicate how meaningful error limits may be derived for lifetimes calculated from beam-foil data using the ANDC technique. We conclude that, provided all relevant transitions are correctly included, the ANDC technique can give reliable results, even in heavily cascaded situations. As an example, we apply the technique to obtain f-values for the 5s-5p transition in I VII and Xe VIII, and obtain results consistent with recent RHF calculationsKeywords
