Abstract

A comparative study of the most popular parton parametrizations is presented. The individual parton distributions as well as the F₂ structure function are discussed with a particular emphasis on the low x region, 10⁻⁴−2. The predictions of these parametrizations for the F₂ structure function have a wide spread which persists also in the HERA kinematical region.
