Abstract
The oxygenation of cobalt(II) Schiff base complexes in alcohols resulted in irreversible oxidation to give the corresponding alcoholatocobalt(III) complexes, which were converted to hydroxocobalt(III) species By treatment with water. Kinetic studies on the oxidation suggest a mechanism involving rate determining proton transfer from alcohols to cobalt-dioxygen adducts. Keywords
