Abstract
A study of the exit dose produced with a radiation of 250 kV, 15 ma, 50 cm. TSD, 1 mm. Cu plus 1 mm. Al filtration, HVL 1.5 mm. Cu over a field 8 x 10 cm. was made on the thorax and abdomen of 100 patients. It was found that the exit doses through the thorax were on the avg. 2.5 to 3 times as great as those through an abdomen of similar thickness. A wide variation in exit doses for the same thickness of similar parts in different individuals was noticed, amounting to 100% in the abdomen and up to 250% in the thorax. Keywords
