Abstract
The two-allele leucocyte group system 4a4b has been tentatively tested for its influence on histocompatibility. In one individual homozygous for leucocyte antigen 4b, a relatively low incidence of other leucocyte group incompatibilities permitted a fairly reliable assessment of the importance of 4a4b group compatibility in skin homograft survival. Grafts obtained from four “compatible” 4b4b donors appeared to survive longer than grafts obtained from four “incompatible” 4a4a subjects. Keywords
