Sur les bourgeons adventifs de Petroglossum nicaeense (Duby) Schotter (Rhodophycées, Gigartinales) en culture

Abstract
When cut into segments, the fronds of Petroglossum nicaeense (Phyllophoraceae) give rise to adventitious buds which are produced: distally by the proliferating activity of the cortex; proximally by a process of regeneration. The proliferating activity gives rise to the primordia of erect fronds while the creeping axes are formed from the regenerated buds. These facts clearly indicate a polarisation in the development of the alga and suggest that correlative mechanisms are operative in this species.
