Abstract
Crystals of the 1:1 complex formed between 3,6-bis(dicyanomethylene)cyclohexa-1,4-diene (bdch) and hexamethylbenzene (hmb) are monoclinic, space group /2/m with a= 8·57, b= 13·62, c= 9·23 Å, β= 94·11° and Z= 2. The structure was refined by the block-diagonal least-squares method using 734 independent reflections measured photographically. The structure consists of sheets of bdch molecules and sheets of hmb stacked alternately approximately parallel to the 10 lattice planes. The mean separation of the molecular planes is 3·55 Å.Keywords
